gangnam-nam-nam

One stressful Monday, we decided to fill our tummies with happy food.
We went to the newly opened Korean resto "Gangnam" in Abreeza Mall

Food and place is good.
I love the smoked salmon maki (drooling).
The price is a bit expensive though compared to other Korean restos in the city.

to my used-to-be seatmate
who easily believes in my "made-up" stories(hahaha)
who endured all my daily quirkiness and unintentional bully mood swings
who went penniless with me with our first online business venture

madam (naks! we have a term of endearment)
it was a not-short-yet-not-long enough time we've shared as workmates
but we were able to build a strong foundation of friendship
we don't agree on same things yet we often end up laughing on our differences (di ba?)

from creating test scripts to testing bugs
from reading system logs to running queries
(there were days we turned into zombies)
our goal was perfection!
but know that there's always that silver lining for errors

so now you're a MRS?!?!@#@!$
(paano na si "edward" nyahaha)
truly, i am super-duper-over-over happy for you and oj
wait-while is worth-while :)

love love love you shyn!
see you in our monthly date!

dear coffee, let's breakup

dear coffee,

    let's break-up.

mornings don't pass without a sip of caffeine from my old-cracked- heart-painted mug
you leave a bitter taste on my tongue that awakens my sleepy cells
you warm my cold thoughts on system bugs, critical emails, and failed cron jobs
you charge me up and electrify my veins

it was too good to last

then the betrayal of the human anatomy took place
my stomach no longer wants to take you in
i tried to push it more and continued on with morning caffeine sessions
i lose the battle in the end, damn acid reflux!

it's one of those things in life that brings you happiness and pain at the same time

so i had to bid farewell to your smell, warmth, taste, and the mere thought of you
but it wasn't easy!
people around me reminds me of you
it was decided, i had to get better

after then let's get back together and never break-up

MusicBoxDiary: She Used To Be Mine

 by Sara Bareilles
From her 5th studio album, What’s Inside: Songs From Waitress

[Verse 1]
It's not simple to say
That most days I don't recognize me
That these shoes and this apron, that place and its patrons
Have taken more than I gave them
It's not easy to know
I'm not anything like I used be, although it's true
I was never attention's sweet center
I still remember that girl

[Chorus 1]
She's imperfect, but she tries
She is good, but she lies
She is hard on herself
She is broken and won't ask for help
She is messy, but she's kind
She is lonely most of the time
She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie
She is gone, but she used to be mine

[Verse 2]
It's not what I asked for
Sometimes life just slips in through a back door
And carves out a person and makes you believe it's all true
And now I've got you
And you're not what I asked for
If I'm honest, I know I would give it all back
For a chance to start over and rewrite an ending or two
For the girl that I knew

[Chorus 2]
Who'll be reckless, just enough
Who'll get hurt, but who learns how to toughen up
When she's bruised and gets used by a man who can't love
And then she'll get stuck
And be scared of the life that's inside her
Growing stronger each day 'til it finally reminds her
To fight just a little, to bring back the fire in her eyes
That's been gone, but used to be mine
Used to be mine

[Refrain]
She is messy, but she's kind
She is lonely most of the time
She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie
She is gone, but she used to be mine

subsequent soliloquy

Been on hiatus for almost 2 months from this blog. So before the BER months come, let me break the silence.

Like the usual, there are ups and downs, there are stories to tell of the places I went, people I've met, food I've tasted, and all the cliches in between. A beautiful mess indeed!

Nevertheless, life is no less than interesting!

Within the 2 months, I haven't read any of my books. I haven't cooked a new dish. I haven't created any art crafts that I've been planning to do (BTW I bought brushes and pens that I'm not sure when will I be able to use). I did watched a lot of Korean TV series and new movies in the cinema. Appeared on a local TV show (hahaha) and had a lot of coffee during the day. Spent a lot of time with Mom & Dad ("the Parentals") on weekends - whether at home to do chores or at the mall with holding hands ^_^

That sums up things. To whoever readers out there...just in case, I'm still here (wink).

thursday cleaners

once there was a boy
he has distant and elusive eyes
once there was a girl
she has warmth and wonder in her eyes

they belong in the same class
she offered a handshake
he refused
she asked questions
he didn't answer

little did the boy knew that the girl is quite optimistic
she spent most of the school year watching him
reading him
memorizing every expression in his face
he cared not

the girl longed for connections
the boy restrained connections
it all began this way
she pushed, he pulled away

the girl find an answer in her prayers once a week
there is one day that they share hours
before the class starts and at the end of every class
they were assigned to Thursday Cleaners

for the brief ran of the hands of the clock
they did the same thing and they were in the same place
and once the cleaning tasks are done
they go back to being strangers without any connection

Thursday is that once in a blue moon stroke of fate
that most awaited rain in Sahara
that sweet promise
and that fairy tale day when your wish gets granted

it could have been unrequited
it could have been a childhood love that one will out grow
but the girl took to account all the hidden glances of the boy
all the silent details she recorded in her memory

years later - one day the boy told her,
"your love at 16 will not be your love at 24"
the girl was a struck with sudden realization
and the possibilities of truth in what the boy have said

"i will cross the bridge when i get there"
the girl told herself with conviction
he remained distant and she remained optimistic
and they continued sharing Thursdays

MusicBoxDiary: Lazy Daisy

She's a lazy daisy
Watching the sun turn
Into rain and maybe
Waiting for something
To take the pain
She don't know why
It doesn't shine
In her rainbow sky
Everytime

She won't say
How the word can play
She won't say
How you can stay

She's a lazy daisy
Painting pictures in her head
Sweet like candy
Loving all of what is said
She don't know why
It doesn't shine
In her rainbow sky
Everytime

traces

in case you want to validate the proof of your existence
you don't need to look far to seek for answers
put your gaze on me and you'll find your traces
you are carved in my very existence

you have walked from my youngest memories
and you have been constant in my dreams
your touch have crawled over my skin
and your voice have echoed in my ears

your story is intertwined with mine
your imprints are marked in my very soul
so in case you forget or somehow get lost
look for me... you'll find yourself here

always & nevers

always starting the conversation with "How are you?"
always volunteering us for something new
(are you the oracle or something? can you really tell things that we didn't know we can do?)

always cheering everyone with your joyfulness and positivity
always seeing every person's potential and ability

always looking over the people around you
always believing that things will work out like they always do

never dull to share all those meetings that last for long hours
never failing to admit when other's idea is better than yours
(although you'll try next time to prove that you're right haha)

never forgetting to compliment with "good job" and "thank you"
never blaming when people make mistakes, it is not your kind of game

never selfish in giving support, trust and even video cameo
never failing to touch our hearts...the way that only Ed Forer can do!

so here's to always and nevers!
never will be the same
always you will be missed

PS:
If I will be given a chance to rewrite my career life...
I'd still chose to work with you Eddie

MusicBoxDiary: Exhale

EXHALE
by Plumb

Its okay
To not be okay
This is a safe place
This is a safe place
Don’t be afraid
Don’t be ashamed
There’s still hope here
There’s still hope
No matter what you’ve done
Or who you are
Everyone is welcome
In His arms

Chorus
Just let go
Let His love wrap around you
And hold you close
Get lost in the surrender
Breathe it in, until your heart breaks
And exhale, exhale

Spirit come
Tear down the walls
That only you can
That only you can
Reconcile, this heart to yours
Right now God, right now
Oh God
We breathe in your grace
We breathe in your grace
And exhale
Oh God
We do not exist for us
But to share your grace and love
And exhale

***

Early morning of May 23, my friends/workmates came to our house to celebrate my 30th birthday.

Because I was feeling lazy to cook and fix the house. I brought them to a garden resort that is just nearby - Precious Garden Resort. About 2-3 minutes of pedicab ride from our house.

As expected, the place is not crowded. We were the only guests - well, considering that it is 7:00AM in the morning. So we had breakfast, sang some songs, took a lot of pictures, shared buckets of laughter, exchanged fiction-based stories (haha! we like to tamper our stories with exaggerated details) and a whole lot of fun things.

Thank you girls! Love love love
