when CEO came to town

We welcomed the CEO of Advisen with a fellowship night. So we were all dressed up casually for the event.

 PHL Business Team

With JPerion, Sir RReyes and some of the Davao Dev Team

I shared a table with my girls but after dinner I was requested to sit in between the US CEO and PHL CEO (hihihi). I dragged my feet towards their table because I knew what awaits for me and my intuitions weren't wrong. When I was seated I was asked right away "What do you want Kay? Vodka or Beer?"
Holy crap! I have been sober for 4 months now and it was such a struggle to reach this long. But how could I refuse an offer from the CEO. I took a quick glimpse on the vodka bottle and I remembered that it was the same drink I had with the other US managers and Sir RReyes years ago - and that vodka didn't do me well at all! I had crazy crazy memories of it and I would rather not add more stunts. So I dodged that drink and chose beer. But they're serving "lights" and I don't drink "lights" so I had to make a special order of RH beer. Sir RReyes joked about how I liked the strong beer. Hahahaha.

And when the spot lights are not on us...this is what we are.

and yes, we are all smiles in this photo

 then the bosses caught us....OoOps

and so they joined in! hahaha

then the elevator alarmed. we've reached the weight limit. PFT! hahahaha

and so i stepped out with the others. shame shame shame. hahaha

bag full of prizes won and lechon! hahaha

Miss Touch-Her

Okay, I guess I have to pay tribute to a woman who made a difference in the world. I have been wanting to watch the movie "The Iron Lady" but unfortunately I have not yet gained the enough eagerness but definitely it gets a spot in my must-watch list.

I don't know her story yet so I'd rather not dispel any false opinions here. I think I would have a similar impression on her with Aung Suu Kyi when I watched the movie 'The Lady". They could be similar in many ways. Well, I like the "girl-power" idea.

So I have been reading a collection of quotes by Margaret Thatcher and I did found one that caught my oh-so-elusive attention.

I am extraordinarily patient, provided I get my own way in the end.
-Margaret Thatcher

I definitely know what she's saying. It felt like she's also walking in my shoes :)

MusicBoxDiary: Feelings

Feelings

by Up Dharma Down
from album Capacities

Breaking through the night
In this cold farenheit
Shadows have left
Crying got old

Bland and bittersweet
Wondering what went wrong
There goes all hope
There goes all hope

But the feeling
It tries to escape
Bleeds through the light even when I close my eyes
Its not seething
The weight on this shoulder
I can’t wait to chase the fiction home
And carry on

Favors in reverse
Songs are unrehearsed
When I get through this
I hope I get through you
Stains on my mind
The cloud on that hour
The minute you closed the door
My eyes washed the floor

Baby baby its hard to say
But there seems to be no other way
You left and you were right
So I have to let us down this time
Cause I can

Cause I can’t feel it
No other way but down
No other way but down
You said so yourself
It’s just
It’s just a feeling
It’s just a feeling

What are you crying for
What are you crying for
When its just a feeling
God knows you can get through this

I wanna know
Do you feel anything
As you go on your way
Driving home
As I sleep alone tonight
I wanna know
Do you feel anything
For me
Before I go
Before I go, forever

2013 SEAL Weekend

S.E.A.L. stands for... Strong and Empowered Army of the Lord

It is an annual activity of the Singles for Christ community in preparation for the C.L.P. season - Christian Life Program.

Last year I attended the SEAL Weekend in Compostela Valley - click here to see the article.

This year, the venue was in Seagull Mountain Resort Buda. We took the non-air rural transit and it took us more than 3 hours to reach our destination. Sadly, we missed the first talk.

The place was perfect for a reflective mood. Peaceful, Quite and Tranquil. And since it's 4,000+ feet above ground level, the temperature is definitely cold.

This year's SEAL Weekend core subject is "FILLING THE CUP TO THE BRIM". This is a call for everyone to pray to be blessed and upon being blessed we are given the opportunity to share to others. And it is difficult to share if we are empty, unpolished and broken jars. That's why we need God's eternal overflowing love to fill us.

2 Timothy 1:8-12

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.
